"It's like going from seeing in color to seeing in black and white" — Circumcised as an Adult

I wanted to share my experience of how circumcision has affected me personally.

I was intact for the first 15 years of my life, during two of which I was sexually active. I used to have so much sensation, performing four to five times a day. At 17 years old, just a couple of years after being circumcised*, it lessened to once a day. Then, at 20, I started having trouble getting or sustaining an erection. I was diagnosed with erectile dysfunction.

It wasn't until I had my second son in my late 20s that I started to look into the effects of circumcision and began to realize why I was having so many issues. Around age 30, I decided to give restoration a try. I wanted to see if it could help give me back some of the sensation that I had lost. Every day, I kept my glans covered with a baby bottle nipple and after two weeks, I noticed a huge difference. My sensitivity improved greatly and any signs of ED were gone.

I learned that the glans is supposed to stay moist (which is what the baby bottle nipple did — it helped lock in moisture) and the foreskin is a mucous membrane, like your eyelids or the inside of your mouth. If your eyes dry out, you will go blind. If your mouth dries out, your teeth will rot. If your glans doesn't stay covered, it will eventually dry out and lose sensation.

Everything on your body serves a purpose. Men who were circumcised at birth don't know what they're missing out on. It's like going from seeing in color to seeing in black and white. I will now spend the rest of my days trying to get back what I used to have.

Circumcision is damaging and harmful. I once believed otherwise, but now I know better. Please protect your sons.

* Jose was circumcised in his late teens because of the sexual preference of a girl he was dating at the time. He now greatly regrets that he permanently altered his body and lost the functions of his foreskin.
